From now on, every month on HomeCooking Share , a regular user artist will be presented, put forward. In addition to his music, which can be found everywhere on the site, this is an opportunity to get to know each other better! For this new episode, focus on Jsundz
HomeCookingShare: To begin, who are you?
Jsundz: Jsundz, Beatmaker / Composer (from Guadeloupe)
HCS: How would you define your music?
Jsundz: Eclectic, Restful, Evasive Music (Classical and Modern)
HCS: What made you decide one day to embark on this musical adventure?
Jsundz: I started playing the piano at the age of 7 and studied music theory in music school. Around 2005, while still in high school, I had heard about Fruity Loops (FL studio) software that allowed me to create instrumentals / riddims. That's where my affection for composing came from over the years.
HCS: Your influences?
Jsundz: Generally speaking, Caribbean music (dancehall, reggae...), American music (hip-hop, soul, jazz), English artists (pop, rap, alternative/downtempo), classical music (I love Chopin) and film music.
HCS: If you had to leave on a desert island with 3 discs: which ones?
Jsundz: Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up / Erik Satie - Gymnopédies / one republic - If I Lose Myself
HCS: The perfect track to cook?
Jsundz: Bob Marley - Is This Love
HCS: Small technical point: with what material do you work?
Jsundz: It all depends on the style of music I'm going to create, but as a general rule I use my different master keyboards (Komplete Kontrol S49/M32 or my Yamaha YDP 143 digital piano) to find melodies. For the rhythm part, I use almost all the time the Maschine MK3 from Native Instruments.
HCS: Not easy to break into the musical jungle, even with talent ... what do you think about it?
Jsundz: Yes, making music is accessible to everyone now with CAM. But the important thing is to have fun.
HCS: And finally, if you have something to add (pretty much what you want ...), here we go!
Jsundz: My new EP Karukera(EP) which is a nod to the traditional music of Caribbean (Guadeloupe/Martinique) is available on Soundcloud/Bandcamp and Youtube. I have several upcoming projects (EP, Video Clip) including a PianoSolo EP that will be available on my Soundcloud and Bandcamp scheduled for June 19th. I leave the surprise for the rest.
To continue in music the discovery of the artist, here is his latest track uploaded : "Zayann"
To be continued... next month!
