From now on, every month on HomeCooking Share , a regular user artist will be presented, put forward. In addition to his music, which can be found everywhere on the site, this is an opportunity to get to know each other better! For this sixth episode, focus on Fading Call
HomeCookingShare: To begin, who are you?
Fading Call: Fading Call is an Electro-Rock duo that celebrates humanity, beyond cultures, languages, territories and religions.
- Joseph FARRUGIA aka JoFa (France/Tunisia) : Texts, singing, composition, guitar, harmonica.
- Mohamed KANNOU aka Nadsat (Tunisia) : DJ Composition, guitar, percussion, drums
HCS: How would you define your music?
JoFa: The sound of sharing, a halt, a night, an hour, a real look on the other and ... arms that hug us.
Nadsat : Our music is above all a stolen moment, a photo that captures an emotion at a specific moment, an emotion in music.
HCS: What made you decide one day to embark on this musical adventure?
Fading Call: We had passed the Jasmine Revolution and joy gave way to anger and fear. However many fears and hopes remained to be expressed. During a jam session Nadsat sampled some sounds of percussion, guitar and hamonica and sent us back loops via Ableton, the feeling is over and the pop rock and electro worlds have merged.
HCS: Your influences?
JoFa: The Clash, Depech mode, the Cure, Jimmy Hendrix, Ben Harper, Bob Marley
Nadsat : Rock, Reggae , Trip-Hop, Drum & Bass, French-touch
HCS: If you had to leave on a desert island with 3 discs: which ones?
Nadsat: :
- Anouar Brahem
- Massive Attack 100th windows
- Perfect circle Amotion
JoFa: :
- The Clash Sandinista
- Ravi Shankar
- Bob Marley Africa Unite
HCS: The perfect track to cook?
Nadsat: Tom Misch “It turns through me”
JoFa: Bob Marley “Stir it up”
HCS: Small technical point: with what material do you work?
Fading Call: Fender Telecaster – Harmonicas – Various percussions – Ableton
HCS: Not easy to break into the musical jungle, even with talent ... what do you think about it?
Fading Call: Oh yeah!
HCS: And finally, if you have something to add (pretty much what you want ...), here we go!
Fading Call: Let’s Rock ! Thank you for the Cooking & the Sharing !
To continue in music the discovery of the band, here is their latest track uploaded : "She Do"
To be continued... next month!
